  Absolutely abysmal experience, a sinfully abominable execution of their purpose.
  
  The social worker was outrageously condescending and rude. From the moment you walk in to speak to her, you get treated like you're mentally inferior to her. You get spoken down to through abrasively aggressive and interrogative psychological profiling. It felt like being in custody, under arrest rather than receiving help you pay for to the point where you get flat out accused of lying when you answer questions honestly. Instantly I got the impression that they were trying to berate me into feeling weaker and more dependent of their help than I was so that they could funnel me into extensive future treatment plans regardless of whether it was necessary or not. After all, trying to convince you that you're in a worse state than you are under the guise of caring just means more business and revenue for them in the long run.
  Additionally, I was asked "Are you gay/straight?" "Are you transgender?" and finally the least intelligent question I was ever asked: "Are you White?" which was her ingeniously stated way of inquiring whether I had any Hispanic or other ethnicity. All of a sudden race/ethnicity and sexual orientation are important key factors in determining the state of someone's mental health and/or need for drug abuse treatment. Sounds more like profiling and discrimination, or compiled only for some demographic study. Either way irrelevant, unnecessary and above all, unhelpful.
  
  Their written portion consists of answering a series of generalized, linear questions and statements ranging from "strongly agreeing" to "strongly disagreeing." There is also a true or false question section where you answer questions that just simply aren't affirmative or negative such as "Most people will laugh at a jokes at times" or a situational statement like "People would be better off if they took my advice". When asked about the nature and context of these question I received the terse reply "Just answer the first thing that comes to your mind" from the aforementioned social worker. Right...I'm sure profiling that comes from making choices in "Don't think, shoot from the hip" fashion is highly effective. God forbid you put any thought or consideration into your input. In another section, you fill in boxes like a scan-tron style test sheet that they presumably just send through a machine. I guess Exodus Monroe feels that they have such a vast understanding and definition of addiction, mental health and human thought processes that they profile their clients into structured categories that can be analyzed and interpreted by a computer program or well trained primate.
  
  Exodus is the epitome of the lack of understanding and care that goes into addiction and mental health treatment. If help, compassion or respect are what you're looking for or among your expectations, Exodus is the wrong place for you!! Don't waste your time, effort or money with this lower echelon establishment run from the top down by a poorly trained condescending, holier-than-thou bunch of jokers that are Exodus Clinic in Monroe, NY
